Finally, a few shots from the closing night of the World Congress, where DRUM! performed, a great meal was served, and awards were handed out.
The Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, speaks expressively at the World Congress in Halifax.
John Kao, Leader of Innovation for Economic Development, speaks at the World Congress, and uses jazz music as an outlet to describe innovation.
I covered the World Congress conference in Halifax recently in Halifax. It was a great opportunity to shoot in a fast-paced environment & photograph some big names!
Here is the Vicente Fox, President of Mexico from 2000-2006, speaking on the first day of the conference.
I’ve put up my second last week of photos on the John W Doull bookstore blog! For those who loves books and photos of books, you’ll want to look here: http://jwdbookstoreseries.tumblr.com/
Fritz, December 10, 2011 vs Fritz, May 3, 2012.
Changes that come with time simply fascinate me! I’m so glad Fritz and I started shooting when we did.
I did another shoot with Fritz recently - you may recall him from a shoot in December. I’ll be posting photos soon showing his appearance changes between then and now, so stay tuned.
Fritz likes to constantly be creating something - working on a film, writing, taking photos, etc. Here he’s seen with some of the hilarious drawings he’s done over the past little while!
My week 7 shots are up, here is a reblog of my last post, featuring John from John W. Doull bookstore!
Week 7 end. This is the owner of JWD Bookstore, John. I was very thankful he allowed me to take a portrait of him, for both a school assignment, and as a great addition to this series.
Taken in JWD on Tuesday March 20, 2012.
Pancake Tuesdays at MG’s has become a weekly tradition, where friends get together, bring, make and eat delicious local foods - some version of a pancake/starch is incorporated, and everyone brings some different toppings. This was one of those Tuesdays, and I believe poutine with goat cheese curds, mushroom gravy, and sprouts were involved. Other lovely ingredients were present but I shan’t reveal all of our secrets ;)
My photos from Week 6 coverage at John W Doull Bookseller have just been uploaded. Check’em out here: http://www.jwdbookstoreseries.tumblr.com/
A vigil was held this evening on Gottigen Street in Halifax for Raymond Taavel, who was killed early this morning outside Menz Bar. I did not know Raymond, but felt like I met him after attending this vigil. He was a prominent figure in the gay community of Halifax, and supporters in the hundreds took to the street to show their support.
If you’re following my blog on JWD Bookstore in Halifax, check it out now as I’m starting to upload some shots from Week 4 of coverage….
A sneak peek: The somewhat trippy literature section, showing some books on travel, and on tape or CD for your listening pleasure :).

A shot I took of my beautiful cousin Andrea and her boyfriend Richard during their housewarming party, one month after the move in, on Prince Edward Island.
